Will Palin Play Cute on 'SNL'?

Sunday, October 19, 2008

You’ve got to give Sarah Palin some brownie points for going on Saturday Night Live. It’s gutsy.

The Republican VP candidate is schedule to make an appearance on the show Oct. 18, alongside host Josh Brolin, who did his own interpretation of a politician, playing President George W. Bush in Oliver Stone’s new movie W.

"I just want to be there to show Americans that we will rise above the political shots that we take because we're in this serious business for serious challenges that are facing the good American people right now," Reuters reports Palin told Neal Boortz, about her SNL gig on his syndicated radio show on Friday.

Of course, we are all just hoping Tina Fey shows up. Since the Emmy-winning 30 Rock star has been sweeping up her hair and winking at the camera as a dead-on Palin, SNL ratings have shot up by 50 percent in the past month and attracted more than 38 million viewings live or online.

Fey has enjoyed the accolades but has said she hopes not to have to play Palin after Nov. 4.

"If she wins, I'm done. I can't do that for four years. And by 'I'm done,' I mean I'm leaving Earth," Fey said this week, Reuters reports.
