Kiefer Sutherland's star on the Walk of Fame was unveiled Tuesday in front of a parking garage at 7024 Hollywood Boulevard, chosen in honor of his show 24.
Among the hundreds of fans on hand for the ceremony was his father Donald Sutherland, who gave a touching speech about watching Kiefer grow into an "astonishingly good" actor.
Sutherland, 41, whose life is back on track following a jail term for DUI, said he never imagined he would have a star, but looks forward to the day when he can share it with his grandson.
"One day we can come across my star and he and I can jump up and down on it," he said, "and he won't have to worry because it won't break."
