Leighton Meester : Featured in The New York Times
Tuesday, April 14, 2009While Gossip Girl may not dominate the ratings, the show has developed more than just a tiny, cult following.
This week, for example, star Leighton Meester is actually featured in The New York Times Magazine, a well-respected publication read by millions.
Inside the issue, the gorgeous actress speaks on her character, Blair Waldorf, along with her burgeoning music career. A couple of interview excerpts:
On Blair: "I actually find Blair naïve. I look at young girls like her who are obsessed with guys and with being the most popular and the prettiest, and I just want to shake them. Maybe you just grow up a little faster when you’re a young performer, but I was definitely never like that."
On her upcoming CD: "The music is electric and very pop, with a little bit of rock to it. It’s not like bubblegum - it’s very edgy."
