Spencer-Heidi's Wedding Dream Finally Comes True
Monday, April 27, 2009After three years of courtship, publicity stunts and whoring themselves to any celeb gossip magazine willing to pay, Heidi Montag is officially Mrs. Spencer Pratt.
The Hills' infamous couple got married - for real this time - in a sunset ceremony at the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Pasadena, Calif., on Saturday.
Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt, 22 and 25 respectively, exchanged their cue cards vows before 200 guests, including Hills co-stars Audrina Patridge, Justin-Bobby, Lo Bosworth and Brody Jenner, Kristin Cavallari, and Frankie Delgado.
Heidi's estranged former BFF, Lauren Conrad, had a change of heart and attended the festivities, but made a quick exit from the church following the ceremony.
The wedding party comprised Heidi's sister Holly Montag and Spencer's sis, Stephanie Pratt, both of whom were dressed in matching floor-length, yellow, silk chiffon gowns, while the groom was joined by two nonceleb friends.
Despite "security concerns," everything seems to have gone well:
The plastic bride wore over $1 million in jewels from designer Neil Lane, including a pear-shaped diamond floral necklace with multiple diamond chains layered over it, diamond earrings and diamond hairpins.
The groom borrowed a pair of diamond cufflinks from the jeweler for the big day and even shaved for the occasion. They arrived in a white Rolls Royce Phantom.
Before the ceremony, which was of course captured by MTV cameras, a plane flew overhead and wrote "Spencer loves Heidi" in the sky (see photo after the jump).
Pratt pointed out the planes which were now going to write "Heidi's No. 1 Hit on iTunes." Hey, nothing wrong with a shameless plug, even on your wedding day.
Spencer Pratt looked dapper in a black suit, smiling and signing autographs for fans outside the church as Montag posted updates on Twitter throughout the day.
"This is going to be the best day of my life," she wrote. "Thank you God for Spencer." She also described her wedding dress as "amazing – like a swan princess."
After the ceremony, The Hills duo kissed on the church steps. Guests threw rose petals at the couple, who left for the reception in black Rolls Royce Phantom.
Love was in the air after they exchanged vows, as Jenner and girlfriend Jayde Nicole kissed and huddled close to keep warm and Bobby and Patridge seemed happy to see each other, passing the time while laughing together.
The night before the ceremony, the gruesome twosome held a rehearsal dinner at Wolfgang Puck's posh Beverly Hills restaurant Cut.
The dinner included about 40 guests – and camera crews, which filmed the evening's events, including the couple's heartfelt toasts.
The wedding comes five months after the pair flew to Mexico for an impromptu ceremony. The Mexican celebration, which Pratt described at the time as having "margaritas, sunsets and beautiful settings," did not include family and friends.
The original Spencer and Heidi wedding was misleadingly implied to be real, though it was not official in any way, shape or form. This one theoretically is.
So congratulations to the couple that has given us so much over the years. We look forward to many more years of their love and reality TV antics.
The word is out: Spencer loves Heidi. And fame.
