Carrie Prejean Bare Photos: Revealed
Tuesday, May 5, 2009What would Jesus say about posing topless?
A handful of racy photos have been discovered of the reigning Miss California and Miss Anti-Opposite Marriage. Indeed, Carrie Prejean may not believe in gay nuptials, but she does believe in posing half-naked!
First, there's this lewd picture of Prejean in B!isss Magazine. Is it particularly offensive? No. But is it appropriate for a woman that claims to live her life according to the Bible? You tell us.
Far worse than the aforementioned photograph, however, is a topless image of Prejean that's circulating around the Internet. The setting/source of the picture is currently unknown - but that's definitely Prejean, and those are definitely her (fake) boobs being covered up:
Supporters admire Carrie Prejean's supposed inner beauty and courage. What do they have to say about her outer nudity?
According to Alicia Jacobs, an entertainment reporter at KVBC in Las Vegas, there are six scantily-clad shots of Prejean from this spread. Some are more revealing than the one shown above.
Naturally, we'll publish them all as they get released. (Hey, Carrie asked for this attention when she went on her post-Miss USA Pageant media tour.)
On a somewhat serious note, we hope Christians soon recognize the irrationality of hurrying to embrace anyone that makes one statement and/or appears to support their agenda. Wouldn't it serve their cause a lot better to distinguish between a principled position, based on theological understanding of scripture, rather than a knee-jerk endorsement of anyone that cites the Bible?
After all, if being gay is a sinful lifestyle choice, as Prejean has stated, what about flaunting one's body for money and attention?
Before we open this post up to comments and discussion - keep it clean and respectful, but we'd love to hear from Prejean supporters in light of this naked evidence - we'll leave you with the following passage from Timothy 2:9:
I also want women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, not with braided hair [extensions] or gold [highlights] or pearl [necklaces] or expensive [lingerie] clothes, but with good deeds, appropriate for women who profess to worship God.
FOLLOW THIS ARTICLE'S JUMP TO READ PREJEAN'S STATEMENT, ADDRESSING THIS Bare PHOTO SCANDAL.
Prejean writes:
"I am a Christian, and I am a model. Models pose for pictures, including lingerie and swimwear photos. Recently, photos taken of me as a teenager have been released surreptitiously to a tabloid Web site that openly mocks me for my Christian faith. I am not perfect, and I will never claim to be. But these attacks on me and others who speak in defense of traditional marriage are intolerant and offensive. While we may not agree on every issue, we should show respect for others' opinions and not try to silence them through vicious and mean-spirited attacks.
"With that in mind, I will continue to support and defend marriage as the honorable institution it is. I will continue to stand with the overwhelming majority of the American people and the voters of my home state of California. If this whole experience has taught me anything, it is our precious right to speak freely, and how we as Americans can never allow anyone or any group to intimidate or threaten us to keep silent."
Note to Carrie: didn't you just join the The National Organization for Marriage, which is a group whose entire mission is to keep the supporters of gay marriage silent?
We're all for speaking freely, we're just confused about Carrie's cause. No one is threatening to keep her silent, nor is anyone bashing Prejean for holding a set of beliefs.
We're just pointing out the contradiction in citing the Bible in one's stance against gay marriage, yet clearly ignoring numerous other teachings from it. It's an insult to true believers. The Bible isn't something to casually refer to when it appears to support your beliefs. You need to actually live your life in accordance with its values.
Keep flipping through that Bible, Carrie. Find the passage that supports fake boobs and topless pictures. Take as much time as you need...
** Update: Based on comments that misinterpret this article's point, we feel the need to sum up our take on Prejean:
She is absolutely entitled to her opinion. Nowhere on our site does it say otherwise. However, her actions outside of her statement on gay marriage cause us to wonder why she is placed on such a pedestal by conservative Christians. We'd simply like to know:
Why does coming out against gay marriage automatically make Carrie Prejean into a Christian role model? Does stating that one belief - which no one denies she has a right to hold - instantly excuse her from following biblical values/passages in other aspects of life?
