American socialite Paris Hilton wanted to be like Princess Diana but the infamous sex tape scandal ruined her dream to become a respected personality, reveals a new documentary on the hotel heiress.

The 28-year-old Hilton who is well known for her partying lifestyle, said that she had looked upto Princess Diana while growing up but the tape leaked by ex-boyfriend Rick Solomon put an end to her plans, reported Sun online.

"It's the most intimate thing you can do and the whole world is watching it and laughing at you.That's not what I wanted when I was a little girl. It's not what I planned. I always looked up to people like Princess Diana and now I can never be like that," Hilton is seen saying in the documentary, 'Paris, Not France' which was shown at at the Cannes Film Festival.

But ironically the sex tape is not the only bad behaviour attributed to Hilton who has spent a short spell in prison on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol.
